St. Supéry Estate Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley 2015 ($18)
It’s one of my favorite Sauvignon Blancs. Like ever.
Pour a glass and you’ll see this fabulous pale yellow with a hint of green.
Taste it and instantly can you’ll get grapefruit, lemon and lime.
It’s so refreshing; you can have it with breakfast.
That’s actually how I tried it for the first time. I had the pleasure of visiting the winery at St. Supery on my very first trip out to Napa Valley.
At 10am, CEO Emma Swain handed me of their Sauvignon Blanc and I was hooked. Wheaties be gone! This is the breakfast of Champions.
So with spring in the air, I can’t help but start craving it again. I often drink it on its own, preferably poolside. But it pairs beautifully with everything from your fried calamari to that healthy spinach salad with goat cheese.
I always have a few bottles of this wine on hand, especially in the summer. And I can almost guarantee that this is the first glass I pour for any one who visits my home over the next few months.
Chanel, Inc., the global fashion house recently purchased St. Supéry Estate Vineyards & Winery but the management and winemaking team remains in tact. So no worries. And Chanel is no a stranger to wine. It actually owns two Bordeaux châteaus. This is its first purchase in the US, which is quite a nod to St. Supery.
And it makes me love the wine even more because it’s now the closest I’ll come to ever owning Chanel.
